Meet Jennifer: ClearCut’s Sales Development Representative

Jennifer Kurland, also known as “Jenny Meeting” by her ClearCut teammates, is a curious, spunky, and rockstar member of the sales and marketing team. In her role as Sales Development Representative, Jennifer’s primary focus areas include inbound and outbound prospecting, nurturing leads with content and education about the benefits of our products or services, and collaborating with our Sales Director to guide new connections through the sales process from start to finish.

What excites you most about working at ClearCut?

Generally speaking, I love sales! I love the chase, the highs and lows, and learning about myself along the way. I like how ClearCut compliments the things I enjoy about my work. I was provided a great foundation of who to reach out to and with what resources. I am celebrated when I have wins and supported when I have lows. I am provided with constructive feedback that helps me become better in my current role. At the same time, I am developing new skills that support potential growth opportunities. 

How has ClearCut helped you with your career development?

ClearCut has clear next steps. We often talk about my progression at work and where we would like me to go next. And then, we do something about it. We practice what it would look like for me to take a different piece of the sales process and then soon enough we are trying it out in the real world.

How has your team adapted to working virtually?

I was hired in the midst of the initial COVID lockdown back in March 2020. I have never met my boss in person and have only met my manager 3 times (including the interview). Shortly after starting, I had just finished reading the EOS (Entrepreneur Operating System) book. We now follow the meeting management style laid out in the book and it has helped us stay on task. We meet as a team twice a week and I meet with my direct manager once a week. These small touchpoints keep us on target and successful. Just this week, we celebrated our highest weekly numbers in new meetings set. 

What do you like to do when you’re not working?

Since COVID, my extracurricular activities have changed. I have become very active doing workouts like HIIT, Yoga, Pilates, and Zumba! I like cooking & taking pictures of my food : ) I have been experimenting with new recipes from HelloFresh. I watch sci-fi movies and for fun, I make soy candles out of recycled glass jars.
